Guided tours in Goslar

You have the option of choosing between 2 different tours when you register:

Tour 1 - Rammelsberg / Mine Railway

A shrill bell warns you when the mine train arrives. Now the adventure can begin! Like the miners of the Rammelsberg, you will travel deep into the mountain to your workplace "on site". You will experience a typical miner's day with the mine guide:

After "Anbeißen" (the miner's breakfast), you will drill, blast and finally load the ore rock. When the shrill bell of the mine railway sounds again, you board the passenger carriages for the journey to the surface. Behind you lies a "shift" in which you can see the mining machines in action, which made the miners' work easier. Nevertheless, it remained hard and exhausting.

Rammelsberg
The Rammelsberg ore mines are the only mines in the world that have been in continuous operation for over 1000 years. The mines and the medieval old town of Goslar with the Imperial Palace were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992.

Tour 2 – Goslar / Guided City Tour
Goslar is a thousand-year-old town on the northern edge of the Harz Mountains. With its historic old town and half-timbered houses, it is a popular holiday destination for cultural and city travellers. Where emperors and kings once reigned, visitors today find a lively town with picturesque alleyways and squares.

Built between 1040 and 1050, the imperial palace, a unique monument to secular architecture, is a must-see for every visitor to Goslar. For over 200 years, German history was written here at numerous imperial assemblies and court meetings.
